Clay Adams – President
Clay began his career at Adams Beverages in May 1996 although he grew up learning a lot about the business from his father and grandfather while working in the warehouse during the summers of his teenage years. Clay worked in various positions at Adams Beverages, and he was approved as the Equity Agreement Manager by Anheuser-Busch in 2005. He was selected to serve on the Anheuser-Busch Wholesaler Advisory Panel from 2007-2009.
Clay attended The University of Alabama, and he graduated with a Business Degree in Finance in 1996. While at The University of Alabama, he was an active member of Sigma Nu Fraternity where he served on several committees.
When Adams Beverages acquired the Charlotte, North Carolina market in November 2012, Clay and his family relocated to Charlotte. Currently, Clay serves as the President of Adams Beverages in the Charlotte, North Carolina market.
Aside from work, Clay is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization in the Southern 7 Chapter. He and his wife Amy have three children: Collin, Jackson, and Maggie.
Terry Collom – Vice President
Terry began his career at Anheuser-Busch in 1982 and spent nineteen years in a variety of Field Sales and National Account positions. In 2001 he left Anheuser-Busch to become President and Equity Manager of Beasley Distributing Company in Chattanooga. In November 2007 he joined newly formed Crown Imports as Vice President of the Central Division located In Chicago and managing the Midwest. Crown restructured in 2010 and he relocated to Charlotte to manage the Southeast Division. In November 2012 he resigned from Crown Imports to join Adams Beverages of North Carolina.
Terry is a native of St. Louis, Missouri where he attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978. Married to wife Beth and has two daughters Kate and Annie.
Donnie Bobbitt – Chief Financial Officer
Donnie joined Adams Beverages as Chief Financial Officer in November 2017. He and his wife Lisa have two kids, Turner and Harrison. Donnie began his career with Deloitte in the public accounting world as a CPA. After Deloitte, Donnie joined Speedway Motorsports which is based in Charlotte and owns multiple speedways and motorsports related businesses around the country. Next, Donnie was with a student housing company based in Charlotte that he helped take public on the NYSE in 2010 and got to ring the opening bell at the exchange. Most recently, prior to joining Adams, Donnie ran his own consulting practice that focused on CFO support to companies in a variety of industries.
Outside of work Donnie enjoys golfing, live music and attending his kid’s baseball games and swim meets. His favorite sports teams are Wake Forest, the Yankees and Panthers.
Steve Cardone – Chief Operating Officer
Steve worked for Anheuser-Busch for over 17 years in Field Sales, Pricing Operations, Marketing, On Premise and the Wholesale Operations Division then joined the Adams team in 2015. In his spare time he enjoys traveling to places both near and far from Alaska to Zimbabwe.
Bill Fitzmaurice – Vice President Off-Premise Sales
Bill began his career at Anheuser-Busch in 1985 in Chicago as a Sales Rep at the Chicago WOD. He spent the next 30 years in a variety of Field Sales positions while living in nine different cities and managing several sales areas.
In 2011 Bill moved to Charlotte as the Senior Sales Director for Anheuser-Busch in the Carolinas. In May 2015 Bill retired from Anheuser-Busch and joined Adams Beverages in August of 2015.
Bill is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a graduate of Michigan State University. Married to wife Eileen and has two daughters Taylor and Lexi.
Pamela Perkins – Director of Audit & AR
Pamela joined Adams Beverages shortly after the acquisition of Bealer Wholesale. She has over 20 years of accounting background. She highly enjoyed the challenge of joining a new industry and learning the ins and outs of beer. Pam loves that Adams Beverages has such a great partnership with local sports teams. She loves spending time with her husband and daughter and being active at the YMCA.
David Sexton – Director of Inventory Management
Dave has over twelve years of experience in the beverage industry. He has a degree in Biology from UNC Charlotte. Started out part time in marketing and moved his way up in the company, currently he is the Director of Inventory Management. Dave’s favorite part of the industry is the fast-paced nature of the business. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and gardening… and of course, beer!
Chris Koch - Director of Operations
Chris joined Adams Beverages in September of 2017. Chris got his start in the beer business nearly 14 years ago, working for a Long Island, NY based Wholesaler, Clare Rose. There, he held many positions spanning nearly all departments within the organization. Chris received his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing & Management from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. Chris and his wife Jennie have relocated down to the Charlotte area with their two boys Brayden and Logan, as well as their dog Daisy.
Gregg McConnell - Director of Marketing and On Premise
Before joining Adams Beverages in 2017, Gregg worked in the bar and restaurant industry. Gregg managed night clubs, bars and restaurants for 20 years all over the east coast. Most recently, he spent the last 10 years working with the Blackfinn group. Gregg is from Waynesville, NC, an avid sports fan, and a graduate of Duke University. He is married to Dorie and they have two daughters, Julie and Lilly.
Jeremy Hyatt – C-Store Sales Manager
Jeremy has been with Adams Beverages since it began operations in Charlotte, NC, and was previously with Bealer Wholesale for 12 years. He began his career as a spare salesman, moved his way up through the sales department, and is now Director of Sales Service. He enjoys the fast-paced ever changing nature of the beer industry and the fact that no day is the same. Jeremy spends his weekends traveling for his kids soccer games and being outdoors.
Chris Absher – Off Premise Key Account Manager
Chris is a beer industry veteran with over 15 years of experience. His “beer man” career began as a c-store delivery driver and has since held many positions throughout his tenure such as weekend merchandiser, on premise sales, c-store sales, grocery sales, Area Sales Manager, and Off Premise Sales Manager. One of his favorite things about the industry is building and maintaining relationships with customers and most of all the camaraderie that is shared here at Adams Beverages. Out of his many years of attending sporting events, his most memorable moment was the Charlotte Knights season opener in their new stadium when the Budweiser Clydesdales came to town in 2014. Outside of work, Chris loves spending time with his wife, Jessica, and four kids; Sullivan, Sadie, Stella and Shepherd, as well as his dogs Brady and Jeter.
Hillary Page – Grocery Key Account Manager
Hillary has been in the beer industry since 2006, previously with Bealer Wholesale. Hillary is a graduate of UNC Charlotte with a BSBA in Business Management and a minor in Psychology. She started out her career on the Contemporary Marketing Team and today manages our Key Accounts. When she is not working, Hillary spends her time traveling or planning her next vacation!
Drew Ezzell - sales execution coordinator
Drew is a Dothan native and a 2006 graduate of the Auburn University with a degree in Business Finance. Drew started working for Adams Beverages in Dothan AL in 2007 as delivery driver. He also held roles as Salesman, AOE Coordinator, and Business Analyst. Currently, Drew is in charge of all sales reporting for Charlotte. In his off time, he enjoys volunteering, sports, and the great outdoors.
Leslie HArris – Craft Brand Manager
Leslie joined Adams Beverages in January 2014. She began her career with Adams as a Brand Activation Manager and is now managing part of our craft portfolio. Leslie graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Advertising. When she is not working, Leslie is enjoying the outdoors or exploring new restaurants in Charlotte.
Melissa Cone – Craft Brand Manager
Melissa is from Tallahassee, Florida where she graduated from Florida State University and began her career in the beer industry as a part of the Contemporary Marketing team. Melissa has been in the beer industry since 2008 and has held multiple positions including Sales Representitive, Event Manager, and Marketing Manager. Melissa joined Adams Beverages in 2017 as a High End Sales Rep. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, exploring her new city, and of course cheering on the Seminoles with an ice cold beer in hand!
